“as below, so above”

“As Below, So Above” is a group of work by artists based in Brooklyn (NYC), Los Angeles, and Glasgow. The words of the title are an inversion of the more common phrase used throughout occult and magical circles. Attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, the complete phrase has been translated as- “That which is Below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which Above corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracle of the One thing.”
The artworks made by these artist, whether by design or accident, seek to exist in different realms simultaneously. Something made in one, exists in all.
