Mel Skluzacek’s works address landscape and our place within it.

Intersections of artificial and the assumed natural character of landscape have served as fodder for sculpture, sounds works, installations and video. The work Horizons is a series of videos that expand upon an evolving body of work invested in visualizing infinity and the dissolution of space through the passage of time.  Invoking the horizon as a unifying visual theme, movement through various American landscapes is charted. Skluzacek will perform live audio accompaniment to Horizons.

Skluzacek has exhibited her work and performed at Issue Project Room Brooklyn NY, Nueberger Museum Purchase NY, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art Peekskill, NY, Microscope Gallery Brooklyn NY, Co-Worker’s Project Entwine  NYC, Beta Spaces Brooklyn NYC. Mel is a recipient of a Jerome Foundation Grant and an Arts Exchange Fellowship from the Westchester Arts Council. Mel Skluzacek received her MFA/MA from SUNY Purchase College in 2007 and lives and works in New York City.
