“At This Red Door, Laini Nemett will present images of recent paintings and models inspired by composite architectures to initiate a discussion on the idea of home. Using a loose floor plan of a typical Baltimore row-house as a template and any materials available, attendees will be invited to create their own interiors. This will be the first of several collective construction events organized in various cities. Many of the resulting “floor-plans” will be used to influence a series of 3-dimensional models and related paintings. Eventually these works, along with the original floor plans, will be presented in an exhibition in Baltimore and New York with an accompanying catalogue. Participating artists will be cited if they choose to be.”
